Chocolate Oatmeal Bars
Ingredients

1 Cup butter divided
2 Cups brown sugar, packed
2 Eggs
4 Tsp. Vanilla extract, divided
2 1/2 Cups flour
1 Tsp. baking soda
3 Cups quick cooking rolled oats
14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
2 Cups semi sweet chocolate chips
1 Cup Sliced almonds, divided

Cooking Instructions

Heat oven to 350 degrees f. Set aside 2 tbsp. butter. Beat the remaining butter in a large bowl on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add brown sugar, eggs, 2 Tsp. vanilla. Beat until well mixed.

Stir together flour and baking soda in a large bowl; stir in oats. gradually stir flour mixture into beaten mixture, set aside.

Combine reserved 2 tbsp. butter, condensed milk, and chocolate chips in a medium saucepan. Cook over low heat until chocolate melts, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat. Stir in 1/4 cup of the almonds and remaining vanilla. Press about 3 1/3 cups of the oats mix into the bottom of an ungreased 15 1/2 X 10 1/2 X 1" jelly roll pan.

Spread chocolate mix over the oats mix. Now put the remaining oats mix over the chocolate mix and top with remaining almonds. Bake about 25 minutes or until top is lightly browned.

Cool and cut into bars.
