2 Cups flour
3 Tbsp. shortening
2 Tsp. baking powder
3/4 Cup milk
1/2 Tsp. salt
Your choices of cooked fruit; apple sauce, apples, cranberries, strawberries, blueberries, rasberries, apricots, peaches and so forth.
Cooking Instructions
Sift flour before measuring,then sift with baking powder, and salt. Cut shortening into flour, adding milk gradually, mixing into the dry dough.
Toss onto floured board; knead lightly. Roll out dough to 1/4" thickness and cut into rounds. Place a tablespoon of fruit and fold over pastry pinching allong edges. Prick top several times.
