1 pound ground turkey
1 package favorite taco seasoning
1 medium tomato
1 medium yellow or red onion
1/2 pound medium cheddar cheese
1 small head iceberg lettuce
8-10 hard shell taco or soft tortillas
1/2 pound fresh watercress or cilantro (optional)
1 pint fresh sour cream (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add ground turkey and brown until no longer pink. Add taco seasoning packet and water according to packet directions and cook 5-8 minutes until meat is cooked through. Set aside, keep warm.
Dice onion, chop lettuce and tomato, grate cheddar cheese and thoroughly wash cilantro and or watercress, pinch off good ends for topping your tacos.
Warm taco shells in low heat of an oven (or briefly in a microwave). Allow each dinner guest to build their own tacos or make them all and bring to the table on a large platter.
Makes 4-6 Servings
Serving Size: 2 tacos each person.
